Portland’s Christmas tree — a 55-foot blue spruce donated by Lori and Allan Huff of South Portland — was delivered to Monument Square on Thursday.

It’ll get a makeover in the next few days, and its 1,500 LED lights will be flipped on during the annual tree lighting ceremony, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 25 — the day after Thanksgiving — in an event produced by Portland’s Downtown District.

In first three photos, transportation and setup crews are hard at work in the process. Even Police Sgt. Troy Bowden, final photo, joined in the cleanup.
