Awards 

Binghamton University, State University of New York: Miranda Rodway of Falmouth recently received the Edith M. Briloff Memorial Scholarship for academic excellence.

Gettysburg (Pa.) College: Laura Lee of Newcastle and Connor Ertz of Yarmouth received The David Wills Scholarship, which is awarded to first-year students for academic achievement in high school.

Maine Maritime Academy, Castine: Several area students were among 11 to receive the Henry A. Scheel Scholars award, the college’s highest undergraduate academic honor: Angela Fouquette, New Gloucester; Emmet Huber, Peaks Island; Calvin Klopp, Cape Elizabeth; Aaron Piet, Sanford; Thomas Whitney, Scarborough; Mark Zwetsloot, Wells.

Also, Thomas Morrison of Waldoboro and Daniel Woods of Limerick were among 11 students to receive scholarships from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), the leading U.S. ship classification society. Each student will receive a $10,000 scholarship in each of their final two years at MMA and will also be able to complete an internship at ABS.

Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, Pa.: Kayla Bibeau of Freeport and Dayna Kazilionis of Portland, were recently named University Scholars.
