AUGUSTA — Maine energy officials say there’s been no change since last week in the statewide average cash price for No. 2 heating oil, $3.86 per gallon.
The Governor’s Office of Energy Independence and Security conducted its weekly heating fuel price survey today.
Energy Director Ken Fletcher says that since 2004, heating oil has increased from an average price of $1.93 per gallon to the current level of $3.86 per gallon.
With that trend in mind, Fletcher says consumers need to consider efficient alternative energy sources if they are going to have some control of their heating costs.
