PORTLAND — Independent Senate candidate Angus King says he’s sold his stake in a wind power company and that he’ll go one step further to avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest by placing his investments in a blind trust.
King said today that he completed the sale of Independence Wind to his business partner Sunday night. He declined to place a value on the transaction.

Independence Wind operates a 22-turbine, 50-megawatt wind power project in Roxbury. King said Friday he was resigning from the company.
King also told The Associated Press that he’d put his investments in a blind trust if he’s elected to the Senate, just like he did when he was elected governor in 1994. The trust would shield King from information about the identity of investments.
