RUMFORD — The mother of two Rumford toddlers who fell about 16 feet out of second-floor window of their home says neither child suffered any serious injuries.
Angela Malchisky tells the Sun Journal that other than a few scratches from the icy snow bank they landed on, 3-year-old Madison and 2-year-old Aiden were doing fine Tuesday evening.
She says both children are autistic.
Malchisky said she put the children down for a nap at about 3:30 p.m. Monday and about 10 minutes later a neighbor came over to say one child had fallen.
She says she and her fiancé were terrified.
She says the boys figured out that the mechanism that is supposed to prevent children from opening the window was broken.
It has since been fixed.
