GORHAM — The state Fire Marshal’s Office has determined that an early-morning fire was another instance of arson.
The fire broke out in a grassy area around 1:20 a.m. at 363 Sebago Lake Road, according to the Maine Department of Public Safety. Investigators said the target of the fire was an unoccupied house on the property but that the wind blew the fire away from the building.
Acting state Fire Marshal Joseph Thomas said no one was hurt in the fire.
Grass was burned in the area behind an unoccupied farmhhouse near the entrance to the now-closed White Rock Elementary School. The farmhouse and nearby garage had been used by 3rd Generation Automotive.
The fire marks the sixth suspicious fire in Gorham in three weeks.
