Democratic and Republican candidates for Maine’s open U.S. Senate seat will participate in separate public forums.

On Tuesday, the Sagadahoc Democratic Candidates Forum will be held at the Topsham Municipal Building. Organizers say all four candidates, Cynthia Dill, Matthew Dunlap, Jon Hinck and Benjamin Pollard, will attend.

At least three Republican candidates for the Senate seat have signed up for a forum, also Tuesday evening, at the Bangor Baptist Church.

The event is sponsored by the Christian Civic League of Maine, Concerned Women for America, and Maine Right to Life.

Candidates Rick Bennett, Scott D’Amboise, Bruce Poliquin, Debra Plowman and Charlie Summers have agreed to attend. Two other Republicans are also seeking the GOP Senate nomination.

The race also features independent candidates.
