WESTBROOK – Matt Flaherty scored three goals Wednesday to lead Deering to a 9-4 victory against Westbrook in a schoolboy lacrosse game.

Karl Rickett added two goals for the Rams (3-1).

Kyle Gaudreau, Nicholas Tremblay, Austin Watts and Jarrid Barlow scored, and Kevin L’Heureux finished with 22 saves for Westbrook (0-3). 

KENNEBUNK 8, MARSHWOOD 2: Sean Foley had three goals to lead the Rams (4-0) over the Hawks (3-1) at South Berwick.

Pat Rimmer chipped in with two goals and an assist. Harrison Hall, Blake Dawe and Clayton Spang also scored for Kennebunk.

Ben Bath stopped 15 shots for the Rams.

MT. ARARAT 6, LEWISTON 4: Nick Oram had three goals and an assist to lead Mt. Ararat (2-1) over Lewiston (2-1) at Topsham. Matt Melanson scored twice for Lewiston. 

SCARBOROUGH 10, SOUTH PORTLAND 1: John Wheeler had four goals and an assist to lead Scarborough (4-0) over the Red Riots (1-3) at South Portland.

Ryan Pallotta added two goals and an assist for the Red Storm, who led 7-0 at halftime. 

YORK 12, FREEPORT 3: Kyle Robinson scored the last four goals as the Wildcats (1-0) pulled away from the Falcons (0-2) at York.

Jackson Mitchell added two goals and two assists for York, which opened an 8-0 lead after the first quarter. Shane Hughes and Mitchell Fleri each added a goal and three assists. 

CAPE ELIZABETH 14, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 2: Alex Bornick scored four goals to lead the Capers (3-0) over the Panthers (1-2) at Cape Elizabeth.

The Capers led 6-1 after three quarters, then scored eight goals in the fourth. 

FALMOUTH 14, YARMOUTH 7: Mitch Tapley had seven goals and four assists as the Yachtsmen (2-1) beat the Clippers (1-1) at Falmouth.

Charlie Fay added three goals and Jack Cooleen had two for Falmouth, which scored the first five goals. Cam Bell made 16 saves. 

THORNTON ACADEMY 7, MASSABESIC 6: Greg Lodge scored with 3:24 remaining in overtime to lift the Trojans (2-1) over the Mustangs (0-3) at Waterboro.

Lodge also scored in the second quarter as Thornton took a 5-4 halftime lead. Josh Cyr added two goals and two assists. 

GREELY 12, WAYNFLETE 7: Paul Witte scored seven goals to spark the Rangers (2-1) over the Flyers (0-1) at Portland.

Brad Belisle added a pair of goals for Greely.

BASEBALL

GREELY 10, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Bailey Train struck out 11, walked three and held the Hawks (1-2) without a hit to lead the Rangers (2-0) to a five-inning win at Cumberland.

Luke Saffian keyed a seven-run first inning with a two-run double. Saffian and Will McAdoo each had two hits and scored twice. 

LINCOLN ACADEMY 8, CAMDEN HILLS 1: Brandon Bonney allowed four hits with three strikeouts and two walks to lead Lincoln Academy (3-0) over Camden Hills (2-1) at Newcastle. 

WELLS 12, POLAND 5: Paul McDonough had a home run and three RBI to lead Wells (2-1) over the Knights (1-3) at Poland.

Cole Boston and Joshua Ingalls each added a double and two RBI. Ingalls allowed two earned runs on six hits. 

WESTBROOK 8, SOUTH PORTLAND 1: Kaleb Kent had four hits, an RBI and two runs to help Westbrook (2-0) down the Red Riots (0-2) at South Portland.

Joe Quinlan doubled twice, scored twice and knocked in a pair for the Blue Blazes. Zach Bean was the winning pitcher, throwing five innings with one run and four strikeouts. 

YARMOUTH 13, LAKE REGION 3: Ryan Cody pitched a three-hitter with six strikeouts for the Clippers (1-2), who built a 10-3 lead in the first two innings and beat the Lakers (0-2) in five innings at Yarmouth.

Cody allowed three runs in the first, including a two-run double by Ben Chaine. 

FREEPORT 5, YORK 4: Chris Farley singled home Jared Knighton in the eighth inning to lift the Falcons (2-0) over the Wildcats (0-2) at Freeport.

After Freeport took a 4-3 lead in the sixth, Ben Lawlor tied it with an RBI double in the seventh. 

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 11, BOOTHBAY REGION 1: Izaak Mills had three hits with a home run and four RBI, and Kyle Gauvin added two doubles, a triple and four RBI to lead the Falcons (1-1) past the Seahawks (0-1) in five innings at Boothbay Harbor. 

FALMOUTH 10, CAPE ELIZABETH 5: Will D’Agostino had two hits and the Yachtsmen (2-0) broke it open with a four-run fourth inning against the Capers (1-1) at Falmouth.

D’Agostino hit a two-run homer in the second and an RBI single in the fourth, when Falmouth scored three runs on three errors and a balk. 

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 9, WAYNFLETE 4: Austen Keenan singled home the go-ahead run in the fourth inning as the Patriots (2-0) beat Waynflete (2-1) at Gray.

After the Flyers took a 3-1 lead in the first, Gray-New Gloucester got a run back in the second. Adam Healy then led off the fourth with a single and scored the tying run on an error after stealing second and third.

OCEANSIDE 7, BELFAST 4: Dan Hendricks knocked in James Tobin on a grounder for the go-ahead run in the fourth inning as the Mariners (2-2) beat the Lions (0-4) at Rockland. 

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 8, TRAIP ACADEMY 7: Anthony Langella hit a two-run double, then scored the winning run on a fielder’s choice during a five-run seventh inning as the Seagulls (1-2) beat the Rangers (1-2) at Old Orchard Beach.

Langella also earned the win, getting the last out of the top of the seventh after Traip scored twice.
