PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — Coast Guard officials say they are investigating after the body of a woman was found floating in the Piscataqua River.

The woman, believed to be in her mid-50s, was found Thursday evening after a fishing vessel reported seeing a wetsuit floating in the water. She was found south of the Memorial Bridge, near the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

Crews performed CPR but the woman was unresponsive. She was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
