FREEPORT – Jess Hench had two goals and an assist, and Emily Johnson added two goals Thursday to lead Freeport to a 10-8 victory against North Yarmouth Academy in a schoolgirl lacrosse game.

Katherine Millett had three goals and an assist, and Kate Cawley added three goals for NYA (0-3) against the Falcons (1-2).

CHEVERUS 14, MCAULEY 5: Meredith Willard scored six goals for the Stags (1-1), who took a 9-1 halftime lead against the visiting Lions (0-2) at Portland.

Elyse Caiazzo had three goals and Alex Logan added two assists for the Stags.

Clare McLaughlin scored twice for McAuley.

THORNTON ACADEMY 12, BIDDEFORD 4: Michelle Giroux scored all four of her goals in the second half as the Trojans (1-0) widened a 4-1 halftime lead to an eight-goal victory against Biddeford (1-2) at Saco.

Katelyn Pierson and Amanda Cook each scored twice for Thornton. Jenna Roy had two goals for the Tigers.

WAYNFLETE 15, WELLS 7: Walker Foehl had five goals, and Martha Veroneau, Sadie Cole and Ella Millard each had three as the Flyers (3-0) downed the Warriors (1-1) at Wells.

Katherine Torrey needed four saves for the win.

Nicole Moody had three goals and an assist, and Kelly Beisswanger and Heather LaPierre had two goals apiece for Wells. Tabby Goodale made eight saves.

SCARBOROUGH 16, BONNY EAGLE 3: Mary Scott had four goals and an assist, and Kelsey Howard added two goals and two assists as the Red Storm (2-0) beat Bonny Eagle (1-1) at Scarborough.

Avery Pietras and Maggie Smith each added two goals for Scarborough. Haley Thorne led the Scots with two goals.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 17, NOBLE 7: Brenna Gerchman scored five goals, four in the second half, as the Raiders (1-2) handled the Knights (0-1) at Fryeburg.

Abby Smith and Kendra Fox added four goals apiece, and Brit Fox had 15 saves for Fryeburg.

MARSHWOOD 14, WESTBROOK 2: Janay Wright scored six goals to lead the Hawks (2-0) over Westbrook (0-2) at South Berwick.

Alli Schoff added three goals, Jillian Gori contributed two goals and two assists, and Lindsey Poirier had two goals for Marshwood. Elizabeth Bois scored twice for the Blue Blazes.

BRUNSWICK 14, GARDINER 6: Dakota Foster chipped in five goals for the Dragons (2-0), who used an 8-1 second half run to pull away from the Tigers (0-2) at Brunswick.

Caroline Wild helped Brunswick with one goal and five assists.

Allyson Day scored four times for Gardiner.

SOFTBALL

MARSHWOOD 10, MCAULEY 0: Sammy Crossman hit two singles and a two-run homer for the Hawks (2-2), who totaled five runs in the fourth and fifth innings and beat the Lions (1-2) at Portland.

Savannah Landis added a single and a solo homer.

Nicole Harvey pitched a four-hitter with three strikeouts and one walk.

Shelby Bryant had a triple for McAuley.

CHEVERUS 18, DEERING 8: Staci Swallow hit a two-run triple for the visiting Stags (1-3), who totaled 12 runs in the sixth and seventh innings to pull away from the Rams (0-4) at Portland.

Swallow finished with three hits, two RBI and four runs. Kelsey Dulac had three hits with three RBI for Cheverus. Erin Winschel paced Deering with two hits, a run and an RBI.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 17, BELFAST 0: Desiree Benner allowed no hits as Medomak Valley (2-1) beat the Lions (0-4) in five innings at Belfast.

GREELY 8, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1: Elyse Dinan went 3 for 4 with an RBI to lead Greely (2-1) over the Raiders (1-2) at Fryeburg.

The Rangers scored three runs in the first inning on singles by Edith Aromando, Dinan and Jenna Brink, and added two in the fourth, helped by two Raider errors.
