NORTH BERWICK – South Portland scored three runs in the first inning, and Erin Bogdanovich took a no-hitter into the seventh as the Red Riots beat previously undefeated Noble 7-0 in a Southern Maine Activities Association softball game Friday.

Bogdanovich, who finished with seven strikeouts and one walk, allowed a lead off single to Molly Prichett in the seventh. Deven Goss followed with a double, but Prichett was tagged out at the plate.

Sam DiBiase hit a two-run double in the first and a solo homer in the fifth for South Portland (2-2). Danica Gleason had three hits with an RBI, and Bogdanovich and Lindsay Cannon each had two hits.

Amber Kelly struck out eight and walked one for Noble (3-1).

MCAULEY 2, WINDHAM 1: Shelby Bryant scored on an error in the eighth inning to give the Lions (2-2) a win over the Eagles (1-3) at Windham.

Sam Libby, the winning pitcher, struck out 12 and had a single and a double.

Windham scored in the fourth inning when Sasha Van Baars singled home Haley Plante.

SCARBOROUGH 12, BONNY EAGLE 0: Alyssa Williamson allowed one hit over five innings and drove home four runs as the Red Storm (5-0) beat the Scots (0-3) in Scarborough.

Scarborough led 4-0 after three innings, then added five runs in the fourth and three in the fifth. Williamson doubled home Brenna Kent and Mo Hannan before scoring the 12th run on Erin Giles’ single.

Williamson struck out six and walked two.

MASSABESIC 2, BIDDEFORD 1: Emily Shatz’ two triples led to both runs for the Mustangs (4-1) in a victory over the Tigers (1-4) at Waterboro.

Shatz tripled home a run in the first inning. Biddeford tied it in the top of the sixth, but Shatz tripled again in the bottom half and scored on Taylor Bergeron’s single.

Dani Eagan allowed just one hit and struck out nine.

KENNEBUNK 15, CHEVERUS 3: Brittany Madore drove home four runs while hitting for the cycle as the Rams (3-0) beat Cheverus (1-4) in a game shortened to six innings in Kennebunk.

Carinn Burns limited the Stags to four hits, three of them by Casey Simpson.

Janelle Bouchard had three hits, including a home run, and three RBI for Kennebunk.

SANFORD 12, PORTLAND 0: Sam Adams and Faith Crosby combined on a no-hitter as the Redskins (4-1) beat the Bulldogs (0-4) in five innings at Sanford.

Adams struck out six over the first three innings, and Crosby had one strikeout in the final two innings.

Heather LeBlanc’s two-run single helped Sanford open a 4-0 first-inning lead. The Redskins added five runs in the second, and Amanda Tierney hit a solo homer in the fifth, when Sanford scored three runs to invoke the mercy rule.

THORNTON ACADEMY 13, GORHAM 0: Julia Geaumont pitched a one-hitter and also had three hits and four RBI as the Trojans (4-0) downed the Rams (1-3) in five innings.

Geaumont struck out six and walked none.

Bailey Tremblay added a two-run homer, a double and three RBI.

MT. ARARAT 14, LEWISTON 2: Shauna Williams hit a two-run homer in the second inning, and Mallory Nelson’s bases-loaded triple highlighted a six-run fourth as the Eagles (2-2) downed the Blue Devils (0-4) in five innings at Topsham.

Williams and Nelson had three hits apiece. Taylor Prae added four hits and two RBI.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 4, CAPE ELIZABETH 2: Maggie Chaplin pitched a five-hitter, and the Patriots (2-0) scored the go-ahead run on a squeeze bunt by Abby Ordway during a three-run sixth inning to rally past the Capers (1-1) at Cape Elizabeth.

Ashley Tinsman hit a solo homer for the Capers, and Lexi Cantara had an RBI single.

POLAND 9, YARMOUTH 8: Brittina Maheux went 2 for 3 with three RBI to lead the Knights (3-2) past the Clippers (2-2) at Poland.

The Knights snapped a 4-4 tie in the fifth, scoring four runs with two out.

McKenzie Gray went 3 for 4 with a double to pace Yarmouth, which took advantage of four walks during a four-run seventh-inning rally.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 15, LAKE REGION 0: Carla Tripp went 3 for 4 and scored four runs as the Raiders (3-1) beat the Lakers (1-2) in six innings at Naples.

Winning pitcher Sarah Harriman allowed just two hits and drove in two runs. Harriman, Bri Pelkie and Kylie Locke each had a pair of hits.

Kristina Morton hit a triple for Lake Region.

WELLS 18, SACOPEE VALLEY 12: Lauren Bame hit a pair of home runs and a double and finished with five hits and five RBI to pace a 19-hit attack for the Warriors (1-3) against the Hawks (3-1) at South Hiram.

Meghan Young added four hits, three runs and an RBI. Brianna Smith and Sophie Lamb drove in two runs apiece.

Melissa Mayhew hit a three-run homer, and Chelsey Burnell had three hits and three RBI for Sacopee.

YORK 27, TRAIP ACADEMY 16: Kelsey Ellsmore hit a pair of home runs and a double and finished with eight RBI and four runs scored to pace the Wildcats (1-3) over the Rangers (0-3) at York.

Eleni Zotos added two hits, four RBI and three runs scored for the Wildcats, who broke the game open with a nine-run fourth inning.

The teams combined for 37 walks and nine errors.

LACROSSE

MASSABESIC 9, GREELY 5: Heather Everett scored three goals and assisted on another to lead the Mustangs (2-0) past the Rangers (1-2) at Waterboro.

Sam Emmons added two second-half goals as Massabesic pulled away from a 3-3 halftime tie.
