Flags blow in the wind Friday during the 31st annual Take Back the Night March and Rally in Monument Square.

Survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones were invited to share their stories and experiences.

Sexual Assault Response Services of Southern Maine co-sponsored the event with the Portland Police Department.

Partnering agencies included Family Crisis Services, the University of Southern Maine Campus Safety Project, USM Women and Gender Studies Program, USM Women’s Resource Center, and Boys to Men.
