CAPE ELIZABETH — Dan Burke hit a two-run double to spark a five-run third inning and added another two-run double in the seventh to lead Freeport to a 7-3 win over Cape Elizabeth in a Western Maine Conference baseball game Saturday.

Connor Dietrich finished with three hits for Freeport (3-0), and Sawyer Williams threw a five-hitter.

Cape Elizabeth fell to 2-2.

SANFORD 7, GORHAM 4: Sean Smith and Colby Perigo each drove in two runs as the Redskins (2-2) scored six runs in the fifth to overcome a 4-1 deficit against the visiting Rams (3-1).

Ethan Gouin singled home the tying run, and Perigo put Sanford ahead with a two-run single.

Alex Yankowsky had two hits and two RBI for Gorham.

MASSABESIC 3, SOUTH PORTLAND 1: Corey Monigat pitched a six-hitter and hit a tiebreaking two-run single in the sixth inning to lift the Mustangs (2-2) to a win at South Portland (1-3).

Shawn Shannon hit an RBI double for the Red Riots in the third inning. Matt DiBiase pitched a complete game, allowing three hits and striking out six.

WINDHAM 11, THORNTON ACADEMY 5: Jack Herzig hit a two-run double to spark a four-run first inning as the Eagles (2-2) beat the Trojans (2-2) at Saco.

Cody Dube finished with three hits and scored four runs, and Herzig and Matt McLean had two hits apiece.

Thornton was led by Steve Harmon with three hits, an RBI and a run scored. Jeff Gelinas and Dillon Dunbar each had two RBI.

SCARBOROUGH 11, BIDDEFORD 0: Ben Wessel allowed two hits over five innings, struck out seven and hit a two-run homer for Scarborough (4-0) in a win at Biddeford (1-3).

The Red Storm took a 6-0 first-inning lead behind Sam Wessel’s two-run double and Sam Terry’s two-run single.

CHEVERUS 10, NOBLE 1: Ryan Casale struck out seven and held the Knights (2-2) to three hits and a walk to lead the Stags (3-1) at Portland.

Patrick Bell had an RBI single for Cheverus, which took advantage of eight Noble walks.

Jake Emard had two hits and an RBI for the Knights.

BONNY EAGLE 10, KENNEBUNK 0: Briar Morin hit a two-run double during a four-run first inning and also had a pair of sacrifice flies as the Scots (2-2) cruised to a five-inning win over the Rams (0-4) at Kennebunk.

Tom Hazelton struck out six and did not issue a walk while throwing a one-hitter for Bonny Eagle.

MARSHWOOD 3, PORTLAND 1: Jack Verrill struck out six and walked one while throwing a three-hitter, and the Hawks (3-1) scored three unearned runs in the first inning to beat the Bulldogs (0-4) at Portland.

Portland’s Nate Smart pitched a six-hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks.

LACROSSE

THORNTON ACADEMY 5, KENNEBUNK 4: Greg Lodge scored twice as the Trojans (4-1) edged the Rams (4-1) in Saco.

Scott Benson and Parker Roma each added a goal and assist, and Brett Levasseur made 17 saves for Thornton.

Shawn Foley and Clayton Spang each scored twice for the Rams.

CHEVERUS 10, WAYNFLETE 9: Jack Sutton scored three goals for the Stags (3-1), who edged the Flyers (0-2) in overtime at Portland.

Brent Green and Thomas Lawson each added two goals for Cheverus.

Chris Burke had three goals for Waynflete and Zander Majercik scored twice.

MARSHWOOD 12, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1: Luc Taylor scored three goals and Jeff Graunke, Matt Scremin and Jeff Hatheway added two apiece as the Hawks (4-1) downed the Raiders (0-3) at South Berwick.

DEERING 18, BONNY EAGLE 5: Matt Flaherty had five goals and five assists, and Anthony Verville also scored five goals to lead the Rams (4-1) past the Scots (3-2) at Standish.

Karl Rickett chipped in three goals for Deering. Ryan Cannell scored twice for Bonny Eagle.

GREELY 5, MASSABESIC 3: Paul Witte scored three goals to lead the Rangers (3-1) past the Mustangs (0-4) in Cumberland.

Griffin Doree made six saves for the win. Jacob Desrochers scored twice for the Mustangs.

MT. ARARAT 7, CONY 0: Josh Richards scored three goals and set up another as the Eagles blanked the Rams at Augusta.

Nick Dow added a pair of goals, and Jonathan Brown had a goal and two assists. Nick Oram contributed a goal and an assist.

CAMDEN HILLS 13, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 4: Max Mercier and Vinny Kwiatkowski each scored three goals and William Clapp and Pat Weferling added two apiece as the Windjammers (2-3) cruised past the Falcons (1-4) at Rockport.

GORHAM 9, FREEPORT 7: Tyler Rankin scored five goals and assisted on another, and Eliot Gagne had a goal and five assists as the Rams (2-3) edged the Falcons (0-3) at Freeport.

Anthony Coppola added three goals and one assist.

Freeport was led by Evan Hench with three goals.
