SACO – Julia Geaumont pitched a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts Wednesday as Thornton Academy shut out Sanford 6-0 in softball.

Geaumont, who walked one, gave up a single to Faith Crosby in the fifth inning.

Bailey Tremblay hit a bases-loaded triple in the third inning when Thornton (6-2) scored four runs.

Sanford dropped to 4-5.

FALMOUTH 6, POLAND 1: Ali Carver drove in three runs with a bases-clearing double in the fourth inning as Falmouth (2-4) topped the Knights (5-3), at Poland.

Aylse Bazinet set the stage with a bases-loaded single that scored the first run of the fourth-inning rally.

WESTBROOK 11, WINDHAM 1: Kayla Tibbetts pitched a three-hitter to help the Blue Blazes (4-4) defeat Windham (2-5) at Westbrook. Tibbetts fanned four and walked none.

Heather Bailey, Kerigan Demers and Katie Clark knocked in two runs apiece for Westbrook. Haley Berry doubled, tripled, drove in a run and scored three times.

BIDDEFORD 7, CHEVERUS 3: Katie Plante and pitcher Abbie Paquette drove in two run apiece to lead the Tigers (4-5) over Cheverus (2-6) at Biddeford.

Plante drove in two runs with a two-out hit in the third inning, the key hit in a six-run rally.

Paquette gave up six hits, struck out one and walked three.

MCAULEY 4, GORHAM 0: Molly Mack and Shelby Bryant scored on a first-inning throwing error to help McAuley (4-4) defeat the Rams (3-4) at Gorham.

Both players drove in runs in the third inning.

Winning pitcher Taylor Whaley struck out five, walked two and gave up five hits. Losing pitccher Taylor Hansen struck out 10, walked one and allowed just four hits.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 12, MT. VIEW 0: Amanda Hendrickson hit a single, double and triple, and drove in five runs as the Panthers (7-1) downed the Mustangs (0-9) in five innings at Waldoboro.

Taylor Simmons added a home run, two singles and three RBI for Medomak Valley, and Mallory Conary finished with three singles.

SACOPEE VALLEY 3, LAKE REGION 0: Ashley Pingree tossed a three-hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks as the Hawks (5-2) handled the Lakers (3-4) at South Hiram.

Shelley Pellegrino hit an RBI single in the first inning, Rachel Anderson singled in a run in the fourth and Mackenzie Ross scored the other run on a groundout in the fifth.

Allison Clark had no walks and two strikeouts for the Lakers.

BONNY EAGLE 13, DEERING 1: Mariah Harrison hit a grand slam during a seven-run first inning and finished with six RBI as the Scots (2-5) cruised to a five-inning win over the Rams (0-8) at Standish.

Lindsey Howell added a three-run triple during the first-inning rally for Bonny Eagle, and Jess Sullivan and Caitlin Dyer combined on a three-hitter for the Scots.

GREELY 20, YORK 1: Danielle Cimino allowed two hits through five innings as Greely (6-1) posted a mercy-rule win over the Wildcats (1-6) at York.

Cimino struck out seven and walked four.

The Rangers scored eight in the first inning. Lindsey Arsenualt provided a two-run double in the rally. She finished with four hits and four RBI. Mykaela Twitchell helped the cause with a two-run homer in the third.

LACROSSE

FALMOUTH 22, FRYEBURG 4: Molly Ryan scored four goals to pace Falmouth (4-0) in a rout of host Fryeburg Academy (1-4).

Angela Mallis, Geneva Waite and Megan Fortier added three goals apiece for the Yachtsmen.

The Raiders got two goals from Kendra Fox.

WINDHAM 11, MCAULEY 6: Nicole Kennedy had 22 saves for Windham (1-3) in a victory over host McAuley (1-4).

The Windham defense held the Lions to a goal in the second half, which came with 1:52 left.

Leah Chasse and Christina Pollard led the Eagles with four goals apiece.

McAuley’s Taxia Arabatzis led McAuley’s offense with three scores. Goalie Jamie Lacasse finished with 17 saves for the Lions.
