KENNEBUNK – Brendan Guevin homered and was the winning pitcher Friday as winless Kennebunk stunned Cheverus, the defending Class A state champion, with a 10-2 victory in a Telegram League baseball game.

Guevin, who had six strikeouts and one walk, hit a two-run homer during a four-run first inning for the Rams (1-7). Kip Richard and Ned Richard had RBI doubles in the rally.

Nick Emmons hit a two-run double, and Ned Richard and Jake Bear each singled in a run in the fifth as the Rams scored five more.

Ryan Casale had three hits for Cheverus (5-2).

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 6, TRAIP ACADEMY 2: Three pitchers combined for 13 strikeouts as the Patriots (6-3) beat Traip Academy (2-6) at Gray.

Starter Pat Robinson struck out six in three innings, but allowed two runs in the first. Aaron Boulos relieved for three innings and allowed one hit, struck out five and walked one. Adam Healy pitched the seventh and struck out two.

The Patriots took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the first. Kevin Cavallaro, Healy and Aaron Grondin drove in runs. Justin McKenna scored on a passed ball.

GARDINER 6, OCEANSIDE 1: Josh Ouellette pitched a three-hitter, and Brandon Chaput had three hits with three runs as the Tigers (7-2) topped the Mariners (3-4) at Thomaston.

Ouellette, who struck out seven, walked two and hit a batter, allowed two hits in the first inning but used an effective curveball to hold Oceanside to one hit the rest of the way.

Oceanside made it 1-1 in the third inning on three walks and a sacrifice fly by Anthony Campagnoli.

SACOPEE VALLEY 9, RICHMOND 4: Nick York hit a two-run double in the sixth inning to cap a victory for Sacopee Valley (2-7) against Richmond (1-6) at South Hiram.

Jack Reynolds got the win, pitching four innings and giving up four hits with three strikeouts and two walks.

WINDHAM 3, SOUTH PORTLAND 2: John Weymouth was 3 for 3 and scored what proved to be the winning run on Cody Dube’s single in the fifth inning as Windham (5-2) beat the Red Riots (1-6) at South Portland.

Matt DiBiase of South Portland gave up six hits and one earned run, with four strikeouts and three walks. DiBiase also had two hits and drove in both runs for the Riots.

WESTBROOK 2, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Sam Stauble hit an RBI double and Collin Joyce added an RBI single in the first inning, and the Blue Blazes (7-1) went on to beat the Trojans (4-4) at Westbrook.

Keenan Lowe of Westbrook pitched a six-hitter with five strikeouts and one walk.

Dillon Dunbar gave up six hits with three strikeouts and one walk for Thornton.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 29, BOOTHBAY REGION 3: Ben Keene hit two two-run homers for the Phoenix (6-3), who took a 24-1 second-inning lead and beat the Seahawks (0-7) in five innings at Boothbay Harbor.

Eli Capen and Gavin Jones each had a single, a double and four RBI, and Bill Calden had three singles and two RBI.

FREEPORT 6, POLAND 2: Josh Weirich drove in three runs to lead the Falcons (7-2) over Poland (2-6) at Freeport.

Luke LaManga led off the third inning with a triple and scored when Weirich doubled. Weirich doubled again in the fourth, scoring two runs.

GREELY 3, YARMOUTH 1: Bailey Train hit a two-run double and Brad McKenney added an RBI single in the fifth inning as the Rangers (8-0) rallied past the Clippers (5-3) at Cumberland.

Mike Leeman pitched a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts and three walks for Greely.

Chester Jacobs gave up three hits and struck out six for Yarmouth.

CAPE ELIZABETH 7, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 6: Will LeBlond scored on a passed ball in the eighth inning as the Capers (5-3) edged the Raiders (4-5) at Cape Elizabeth.

LeBlond also pitched a seven-hitter with two strikeouts and two walks.

Ian MacFawn gave up nine hits with six strikeouts for Fryeburg.

OAK HILL 4, MEDOMAK VALLEY 1: Joshua Martin struck out 13 to lead Oak Hill (3-3) over the Panthers (4-3-1) at Wales.

Martin allowed four hits, walked one and hit a batter. He also singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored one.

DEERING 9, SANFORD 5: Deering (3-5) took advantage of three errors in the fourth inning to score seven runs and win at Sanford (3-4).

After Sanford took a 5-0 lead in the second, the Rams rallied and Nick DiBiase tied it with a single. Kenny Sweet scored the go-ahead run on an error during a rundown, and DiBiase scored the seventh run on a single by Jared Bell.

LINCOLN ACADEMY 10, WINSLOW 5: The Eagles (6-2-1) broke it open with a four-run sixth inning to beat the Black Raiders (7-2) at Winslow.

BONNY EAGLE 7, GORHAM 3: Travis Rogers had two hits and scored three runs as the Scots (4-4) downed the Rams (3-5) at Standish.

Evan Amell hit a two-run single during a five-run third inning that put the Scots ahead, 5-2.

BRUNSWICK 12, MESSALONSKEE 6: Seth Holmblad, Winston Sullivan and Chris Snyder scored two goals each to help the Dragons (7-0) beat Messalonskee (4-4) at Brunswick.

KENNEBUNK 7, GREELY 2: Sean Foley scored twice to pace the Rams (7-1) to a 4-1 halftime lead against the Rangers (5-3) at Cumberland.

Clayton Spang, Harrison Hall, Pat Rimmer, Nick Hussey and Nick Ames also scored for the Rams.
