When James Julia’s auction house was presented with a 2012 Governor’s Award for Business Excellence, he gave credit to the employees who help him find and sell treasures.

James D. Julia Inc. in Fairfield was among six companies to receive the award, presented by Gov. Paul LePage on Monday in Augusta.

Among the other companies to receive the award was Saddleback Ski Resort in Rangeley, where owners Bill and Irene Berry have created more than 150 new seasonal jobs since buying the business in 2003, according to JoAnne Taylor, a resort spokeswoman.

The other recipients are:

Volk Packaging Corp., a family business that operates a high-quality corrugated and foam-products plant in Biddeford.
