Fore River Sanctuary Walk / 7 to 9 a.m. in Portland

Maine Audubon is hosting a walk around the sanctuary to search for and identify migrating birds and flowering plants. Meet in the Maine Orthopedics lot at 1601 Congress St. Cost is $8. Call 781-2330.

Pemaquid Paddlers / 9 a.m. in Wiscasset

The Pemaquid Paddlers start again this spring with a paddle down the Sheepscot River to the Back River. Put-in is at the Wiscasset Town Landing, at the end of Water Street in Wiscasset. The weekly kayak trips are easy to moderate in regard to skill level. Participants must provide their own canoe or kayak and wear a life jacket. All trips are free and open to the public. Thorne Head Visit / 7:15 a.m. in Bath

Join the Merrymeeting chapter of Maine Audubon for a birding trip to Thorne Head in Bath. The path provides level walking under a canopy of mature trees and has views rich with migrating warblers. Free and open to the public. Meet at the CVS in Bath at 7:15 a.m. Call 729-8661.

Views of White Mountains / 8 p.m., Pinkham Notch, N.H.

The Appalachian Mountain Club’s evening program series features a visual journey through the White Mountains this week. Dave Smith will retell three popular historical stories in the presentation on the history of the region. Programs are free and open to the public.
