CHANDLER, Ariz. — A Chandler cyclist is facing charges after he attempted a “citizen’s arrest” of a jogger who bumped into him.

KTVK-TV reports that Karl Frost was arrested this week for assault and unlawful imprisonment following his attempt to detain the jogger along a Gilbert bike lane.

Frost told KTVK-TV that the jogger pushed him and nearly knocked him over while he was on his bike. Frost said that’s when he decided to use “reasonable force” to detain the jogger.

But Gilbert police said a witness said Frost was being aggressive toward the jogger and gave police a false name — Jack Frost.

The avid cyclist said the only one who calls his Karl is his mother.

It was unclear if he had hired an attorney.
