Navy Seaman Amanda K. Anderson, daughter of Beth and Edward Anderson of Topsham, recently completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Anderson is a 2007 graduate of Mount Ararat High School, Topsham.
Navy Seaman Recruit Ian A. Cebra, son of Phillipa and Richard Cebra of Naples, was recently promoted to his current rank at recruit training graduation at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Cebra is a 2011 graduate of Windham Christian Academy.
Marine Corps Pfc. Alexander E. Keller, son of Pamela and Geoffrey Keller of Dayton, has graduated from the Marine Aviation Operations Specialist Course at Meridian, Miss. Keller is a 2009 graduate of Thornton Academy, Saco, and joined the Marine Corps in September 2011.
World War II military veterans interested in participating in the annual Portland Memorial Day parade are welcome to muster at the Harold T. Andrews American Legion Post 17 at 23 Deering St., Portland. Arrive no later than 10 a.m. May 28. Transportation will be provided by Mainely Tours with pick-up and drop-off at the Post. Participants are welcome to enjoy the fish chowder lunch at the Post which follows the parade.
