LITTLETON, N.H. — The New Hampshire town of Littleton is having a problem with beavers.
The beavers and their dams are causing flooding on some town trails and streets.
Last year, beavers were trapped along one road. There’s a similar request before town selectmen to trap them in another area.
The Caledonian Record reports (http://bit.ly/LaqggM) opponents of trapping say the beavers will only return. They say other methods such as rerouting the trail or using technology to lower the water level behind the dam should be used instead of killing the animals.
