SANFORD – Hannah King hit a two-run homer and pitched a six-hit shutout Wednesday to lead Kennebunk to a 4-0 victory against Sanford in a Southern Maine Activities Association softball game.

Corrine Burns tripled and scored on King’s home run for a 2-0 lead in the second. Jannelle Bouchard added a two-run homer in the third for the Rams (10-4) against Sanford (8-7). 

CAPE ELIZABETH 4, FALMOUTH 1: Ashley Tinsman hit a solo home run, and Emma O’Rourke and Ali Johnson both scored on a throwing error as the Capers (11-3) jumped to a 3-0 lead and defeated the Yachtsmen (8-7) at Cape Elizabeth.

O’Rourke also had an RBI single and Johnson finished with three hits.

Alli Carver led Falmouth with a single and a double. 

SCARBOROUGH 15, WINDHAM 0: Erin Giles hit a two-run homer and a two-run single, and Dominique Burnham and Mo Hannan had three hits and three runs as the Red Storm (15-0) beat the Eagles (2-11) in five innings at Scarborough.

Burnham gave up no hits in four innings with nine strikeouts. 

YARMOUTH 1, FREEPORT 0: Alexa Sullivan pitched a one-hitter with eight strikeouts, and McKenzie Gray hit a single and stole two bases as the Clippers (3-11) edged the Falcons (5-9) at Yarmouth.

Leigh Wyman gave up five hits and struck out eight for Freeport. 

LAKE REGION 8, POLAND 4: Emily Bartlett had three singles and four RBI for the Lakers (7-7), who used a five-run fifth inning to pull away from the Knights (7-7) at Naples.

Christina Morton added two singles and an RBI.

Poland, led by Katrina Seeley with two hits, held a 4-1 lead in the fourth.

SOUTH PORTLAND 22, PORTLAND 2: Danica Gleason had four hits with four RBI to lead nine players with at least two hits for the Red Riots (12-2) in a five-inning game against the Bulldogs (1-13) at South Portland.

Erin Bogdanovich, Laurine German, Olivia Indorf, Sam DiBiase and Libby Grant each had three hits. Paige Carter, Katie Jordan and Kelsey Morton had two apiece.

Leanne Reichert had two hits for Portland, including a double and triple. 

MT. ARARAT 10, EDWARD LITTLE 7: The Eagles (5-9) scored the go-ahead run during a six-run fifth inning against the Red Eddies (5-9) at Topsham.

The Eagles took the lead on a bases-loaded triple by Shauna Williams. Dana Green added a two-run double in the inning.

Williams, Green and Tayler Pare each had three hits for the Eagles.

Danielle Rock had three hits for Edward Little. 

NOBLE 6, MARSHWOOD 0: Jess Morris doubled home Nicole Lanoie and Justina Shorey scored on Molly Pritchett’s sacrifice fly as the Knights (11-4) took a 2-0 first-inning lead against Marshwood (6-9) at North Berwick.

Amber Kelly struck out eight in a two-hitter for Noble.

Deven Goss homered and Kelly singled home Pritchett for two more in the third before the Knights added single runs in the fourth and sixth. 

SACOPEE VALLEY 12, TRAIP ACADEMY 2: Julia Vacchiano and Chelsey Burnell had three hits each, and Liz Moulton finished with five strikeouts and no walks to earn her first win of the year as the Hawks (6-7) defeated the Rangers (0-14) at Kittery.

Burnell, Melissa Mayhew and Michelle Pellegrino knocked in two runs each for Sacopee.

GREELY 17, YORK 3: Miranda Moore and Lindsey Arsenault each doubled home two runs during an 11-run second inning as the Rangers (13-1) handled the Wildcats (2-12) at Cumberland.

Moore, who was the winning pitcher, and Kathryn Whittum each had two hits for Greely.

Kelsey Elsemore hit a two-run homer and Marquis MacGlashing added a solo shot for York. 

GORHAM 1, BIDDEFORD 0: Taylor Hansen pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts and one walk, and Sam Robinson scored on a fielder’s choice as the Rams (5-9) edged the Tigers (8-7) at Gorham.

Erin Smith added two hits for Gorham. 

WESTBROOK 7. BONNY EAGLE 2: Katie Clark had an RBI single and Emily Thornton added a successful squeeze as the Blue Blazes (8-6) overcame an early 1-0 deficit with a four-run third inning against the Scots (6-8) at Standish.

WAYNFLETE 17, YARMOUTH 7: Martha Veroneau had six goals, Lucy Crane added four and Katherine Torrey stopped six shots as the Flyers (11-1) downed the Clippers (5-6) at Yarmouth.

Gina Lowery had four goals, Julie Kameisha scored twice and Jordan Brown made nine saves for Yarmouth. 

MASSABESIC 15, SANFORD 5: Samantha Emmons scored four goals, and Heather Everett and Alyssa Gilman added three each for Massabesic (9-2) at Sanford (4-8).

Katelyn Fink and Janelle Cannon scored twice each for Sanford.
