WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — If the four youths accused of stealing Bibles from a Massachusetts Christian book store read the holy text, they might find out there’s a directive in there that says “Thou Shalt Not Steal.”

Police arrested four juveniles ages 12 to 14 on Tuesday after they allegedly pilfered $100 worth of Bibles and T-shirts from the Morning Star Christian Book Store in West Springfield.

The youths fled the scene on bikes and a store employee chased them in a car until police caught up with them.

One of the youths allegedly threatened the employee.

They were all charged with shoplifting and trespassing, while one was also charged with threat to commit a crime.

Store worker Dean Howard said if the kids wanted Bibles, he would have given them one each.
