At a recent meeting with Washington D.C. lobbyists, Independent U.S. Senate candidate Angus King sent a message: Don’t contribute money to my campaign if you want me to be a firm Democrat or firm Republican.

“Don’t give if that’s what you’re looking for,’” King said, according to one lobbyist. “This is what I’m about, this is who I am, and if you’re interested in supporting me — great.”

While some will likely cheer the message, others will likely likely criticize him for meeting with lobbyists.
