The 40th annual Maine Tennis Association Championships will be held Friday through Sunday at the Waynflete School tennis complex in Portland. There will be men’s and women’s singles and doubles as well men’s 35-and-over, 45-and-over and 55-and-over singles. The tournament is sanctioned as an outdoor major by the MTA. The Nasson Community Center is hosting its 10th Annual Run/Walk for the Gym 5K on Saturday in Springvale. There will be a free half-mile fun run for kids 9 years and younger starting at 5:30 p.m. The 5K walk and 5K run will start at 6 p.m. The fee is $18 pre- and $20 post-entry with a $10 fee for students and a $12 pre- and $15 post-entry fee for anyone age 60 and over.
