HOULTON — Northern Maine’s fair season is kicking off with the start of the Houlton Agricultural Fair.
The Houlton Fair begins today at the Houlton Fair Grounds. For its Fourth Of July celebration, the fair is hosting what’s being billed as the largest fireworks show north of Portland.
The fair’s attractions include a demolition derby, truck and tractor pulls, live music, children’s games, livestock competitions and pig scrambles. There’ll also be burping, bubble gum blowing, pie eating and Moxie chugging contests.
The fair runs through Sunday.
