GRAY — The Maine Turnpike near the Gray toll plaza has been reduced to one lane while crews remove a truck that overturned late this afternoon.

State police said the crash took place between the Gray service plaza and Exit 63 in Gray.

A dispatcher said the truck was hauling a trailer with a bulldozer on it when the trailer jack-knifed.

The Maine Turnpike Authority said it is not sure how long it will take to remove the equipment from the roadway. It closed the Turnpike at 4:45 p.m., but reopened it to one lane around 5 p.m.

Motorists are being advised to seek an alternate route.

Dan Morin, a spokesman for the Maine Turnpike Authority, said northbound traffic is backed up from the Gray plaza all the way to the Falmouth exits.
