AUBURN — Police say two people have died in a fiery early morning car crash in Auburn.
Emergency personnel responded to Merrow Road just after 1 a.m. today to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames in the middle of the street.
Police think the vehicle left the road, struck a tree and rolled several times before coming to rest back in the roadway.
Both victims were still in the vehicle when authorities arrived at the scene.
Investigators are working to identify them.
The preliminary investigation indicates that speed may have been a factor.
