Watershed Tour / 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Georges River Land Trust is hosting a tour through its watershed, rain or shine. The tour will feature seven gardens in the towns of Rockland and Spruce Head. Tickets are available at a variety of stores in the midcoast and also the day of the tour, at a cost of $28. The gardens in this year’s tour are diverse and showcase a range of gardening approaches. Nature programs / 2 p.m. in Freeport

Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park is offering free nature programs daily through Labor Day. The programs include nature walks and talks about wildlife. Programs last an hour and are suitable for all ages. Meet at the benches at the park’s second parking lot. Today’s program is about the ecology along Casco Bay. Loon Counters needed / 7 to 7:30 a.m. in Standish

Maine Audubon needs help with its annual loon count. The count takes place for just a half hour. Counters need a boat or kayak. Contact Nate Whalen, at nwhalen@pwd.org or stop in the Sebago Lake Ecology Center in Standish at the intersection of Routes 237 and 35.

Great Pond Mountain Hike / 10 a.m. in Orland

Join the Great Pond Mountain Wildlands folks for a hike along the Dead River Trail to survey the wildlands from above. The moderate hike on gravel roads and bedrock is about seven miles. For more details, call 667-1293.
