FRYEBURG – Devine Dockery scored two rushing touchdowns Saturday to lead Fryeburg Academy to a 26-6 victory against Gray-New Gloucester in a Western Class B football game.

With Fryeburg trailing 6-0 late in the second quarter, Dockery scored on an 11-yard run as time expired. Fryeburg (2-0) went on to score 20 unanswered points against the Patriots (1-1), including a 28-yard pass from Andrew Rascoe to Bright Amoako.

FREEPORT 49, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Joe Nixon and Jared Polley each ran for two touchdowns, and James Purdy threw two scoring passes as the Falcons (2-0) shut out the Hawks (0-2) at Freeport.

Freeport rushed 24 times for 221 yards, led by Nixon’s 71 yards on three carries.

The Falcons had seven sacks and Dan Burke made 10 tackles.

DIRIGO 32, WINSLOW 21: Spencer Trenoweth rushed for 172 yards and a touchdown for the Cougars (2-0) against the Black Raiders (1-1) at Winslow.

Trenoweth also caught four passes for 51 yards and a touchdown to help the Cougars rally from a 21-18 fourth-quarter deficit.

Dirigo quarterback Brett Whittemore completed 7 of 9 passes for 137 yards and three touchdowns.

“Too much (Trenoweth),” said Winslow Coach Mike Siviski, whose team trailed 18-7 before surging ahead 21-18 on a pair of Zach Guptill touchdown runs in the third quarter. “He’s real smooth. “They capitalized on their opportunities and we didn’t.”

JOHN BAPST 61, MT. VIEW 6: The Crusaders (2-0) scored seven touchdowns in the first half and coasted past Mt. View (0-2) at Thorndike.

“Oh my God, they’re quick,” Mt. View Coach Jack Brady said. “We just couldn’t compete with their speed.”

WATERVILLE 63, OCEANSIDE 10: Nick Danner forced a fumble on the second play, and the Panthers (2-0) scored three plays later and went on to defeat Oceanside (1-1) at Waterville.

“Right after that I knew that we were going to have the momentum, at least for the majority of the game,” said Waterville quarterback Aidan FitzGerald, who completed 7 of 11 passes for 120 yards and three touchdowns. “The start really made a lot of difference.”

In a 34-21 win over Nokomis, Mariners quarterback Sam Meklin threw four touchdown passes and ran for another. The Panthers never allowed Meklin to get anything going, holding him to 43 yards passing.

Danner, a defensive end, was in on a pair of sacks in the first quarter and also forced Meklin out of the pocket a couple times.

BONNY EAGLE 2, SANFORD 0: Zack Moody and Mitchell Crockett scored as the Scots (1-2) downed the Spartans (0-3) at Sanford.

Jeff Martin made eight saves for the shutout.

WELLS 6, SACOPEE VALLEY 4: Samuel LaPointe scored three goals and Daniel Quint added two for the Warriors (1-2), who took a 3-2 halftime lead and held off the Hawks (0-2) at South Hiram.

Nick Ramsey also scored for Wells.

Trey Watson scored all four goals for Sacopee Valley. Mike Pingree made 15 saves.

GORHAM 0, SCARBOROUGH 0: It was all defense as the Rams (2-0-1) and the Red Storm (1-0-2) tied at Scarborough.

Gorham goalie Alex McCarthy had six saves, and Pat Stanton made two saves for Scarborough.

FREEPORT 1, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1: Parker Matheson scored nine minutes into the game for Freeport (1-1-1), and Luca Tesan answered five minutes later for Fryeburg (0-2-1) at Freeport.

Paul Dostie stopped eight shots for Fryeburg. Brandon Qualls made two saves for Freeport.

YARMOUTH 4, CAPE ELIZABETH 1: Adam LaBrie had a pair of goals as the Clippers (2-0-1) defeated the Capers (1-2) at Yarmouth.

Thomas Sullivan had a goal and an assist, and David Murphy opened the scoring for Yarmouth.

Florian Krause scored for Cape Elizabeth.

FRIDAY’S FOOTBALL

YARMOUTH 38, POLAND 18: Brady Neujahr scored twice, and Matt Klepinger and Thomas Lord each rushed for more than 100 yards for the Clippers (1-1), who had 345 yards and five touchdowns on the ground against Poland (0-2) at Yarmouth.
