PORTLAND — Austin Bell scored his second goal of the game in the opening minutes of the second half to lift Gorham to a 2-1 victory over Deering in an SMAA boys’ soccer game Monday night.
Bell opened the scoring on an assist from Connor Reagan 14 minutes into the game. Ben Peterson scored the equalizer for Deering about 10 minutes later.
Alex McCarthy of Gorham (3-0-1) finished with five saves. Anthony Russo made eight saves for Deering (0-2-1).
GREELY 2, FREEPORT 0: Ted Hart opened the scoring 42 seconds into the second half and Mitchel Donovan added a goal six minutes later as the Rangers (2-0) downed the Falcons (1-2-1) at Freeport.
Elijah Leverett made three saves to record the shutout. Freeport keeper Connor Dietrich finished with seven saves.
WAYNFLETE 5, WELLS 0: Peabo Knoth had two goals as the Flyers (2-0) downed the Warriors (1-3) at Portland.
Paul Runyambo had a goal and an assist. Kevin Canakan and Aaron Lee rounded out the scoring.
CHOP POINT 5, A.R. GOULD 1: Gable Stevens and Sam Stevens scored two goals apiece as Chop Point (1-0) downed A.R. Gould (0-2) at South Portland.
Jasser Saenz also scored for Chop Point, which led 3-0 at halftime.
Dante Dennis scored for A.R. Gould.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
SANFORD 5, KENNEBUNK 0: Taylor Littlefield scored two goals and assisted on another, and Hannah Kallis collected three assists for the Spartans (3-0) in a win over the Rams (0-2-1) at Sanford.
Rachael Fink, Allison Legere and Morgan Fogg added a goal apiece for Sanford, which led 4-0 at halftime.
NOBLE 4, BONNY EAGLE 2: Nicole Lanoie scored a pair of goals as the Knights (1-2) beat the Scots (0-4) at North Berwick.
Alex Sardinha and Hannah Fields also scored for Noble, which built a 4-0 lead.
Sam Campobasso and Marley Harmon each had a goal for Bonny Eagle.
WINDHAM 6, McAULEY 3: Ciera Berthiaume scored a pair of goals and Jenna Soucy added a goal and two assists to lead the Eagles (3-0) past the Lions (0-3) at Windham.
Sarah Clement, Delaney Regan and Ayla Tartre scored for McAuley, and Olivia Smith made 26 saves.
PINE TREE ACADEMY 2, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 0: Emily Cancel and Beckie McGuire scored in the first half as the Breakers (1-1) defeated the Lions (0-2) at Freeport.
GPCS goalie Clarissa Jones made 12 saves.
LISBON 2, HALL-DALE 0: Renee Samay-Houle scored twice to give the Greyhounds (2-0-1) a win over the Bulldogs (1-2) at Hallowell.

WAYNFLETE 2, SACOPEE VALLEY 1: Jo Moore scored on a shot from the top of the circle with eight minutes left in regulation to break a 1-1 tie and lift the Flyers (2-1) over the Hawks (1-4) at Hiram.
Waynflete opened the scoring on a goal by Maddy Pellow in the first five minutes. Sacopee Valley tied it before halftime when Ashley Parker scored on an assist from Miranda Schaubhut.
YARMOUTH 1, WELLS 0: Katie Overhaug scored off a penalty corner on an assist from Kallie Hutchinson with 6:10 remaining to lift the Clippers (3-2) over the Warriors (1-4) at Yarmouth.
Nicole Hickey made four saves to record the shutout. Wells goalie Randi Albano finished with seven saves.
GREELY 4, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Emily Domingo had two goals to spark the Rangers (1-4) past the Patriots (0-5) at Cumberland.
Kathryn Bower and Mimi Lyon-Edmonson also scored.
NYA 7, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 1: Maura Anderson scored three goals to lead the Panthers (3-0) past the Seagulls (0-5) at Old Orchard Beach.
Kayla Rose added a pair of goals. Olivia Madore and Marina Poole also scored.
WATERVILLE 2, CAMDEN HILLS 1: Sage Duguay’s goal off a penalty corner early in the second half gave the Purple Panthers (3-2) a win over the Windjammers (2-3) at Waterville.
Alice Flint tied the game for Camden Hills in the first half.
MT. BLUE 8, LINCOLN ACADEMY 0: Victoria Newbill had a pair of goals, while Mikayla Oswald and Hanna Deon each added a goal and two assists as the Cougars (3-1) blanked the Eagles (0-4) in Farmington.
VOLLEYBALL
GREELY 3, FALMOUTH 0: Haley Roach had six aces, eight kills and five assists as the Rangers (1-1) defeated the Yachtsmen (2-1) at Cumberland, 25-19, 25-18 and 25-14.
Katie Ventre contributed five aces, Jordan Copp had five kills, and Dani Cimino added four kills and six assists.
Ally Hick and Riley Burfeind had four kills apiece for Falmouth.
