BANGOR – Ryan Dorso broke free on a 75-yard run with 1:49 left in the game as Husson beat Anna Maria 28-22 at home, breaking a 16-game losing streak.

Reece Attard connected for the PAT and the Eagles (1-2) held on for the win.

Dorso scored earlier on a 33-yard run, and finished with 202 yards rushing on 19 carries.

PLYMOUTH STATE 13, MAINE MARITIME ACADEMY 7: The Panthers (1-2) made a late goal-line stand to preserve a win over the Mariners (0-2) at Castine.

After a 32-yard toss by Michael Fahey to Spencer Bowring that brought Maine Maritime to the 1, an illegal shift brought the ball back to the Panthers’ 6.

A botched snap was followed by a 4-yard run by Billy Wetherbee back to the 1.

On fourth down, Wetherbee attempted to punch it in, but the middle of Plymouth State’s line held.

Andrew Foglia rushed for 98 yards on the day and scored the go-ahead touchdown for Plymouth State.

NORTHWESTERN 22, BOSTON COLLEGE 13: Mike Trumpy ran for 106 yards with a late touchdown, and Northwestern beat the Eagles at Evanston, Ill.

Jeff Budzien tied a school record with five field goals and the Wildcats (3-0) made it three wins over three BCS teams to start the season, even though they didn’t reach the end zone until the closing minutes.

They downed a punt at the 1 to pin Boston College (1-2) against the goal line and took over on the Eagles’ 44 with 2:35 left after they went three-and-out.

BC’s Chase Rettig completed 24 of 44 passes for 291 yards and a TD.

VILLANOVA 31, RHODE ISLAND 10: Kevin Monangai’s two rushing touchdowns and a strong second-half defense helped the Wildcats beat the Rams at Villanova, Pa., in the Colonial Athletic Association opener for both teams.

Joe Sarnese intercepted Rhode Island’s Bob Bentsen on the opening drive to set up the game’s first score. That set up Monangai’s 1-yard scoring run to give Villanova a 7-0 lead.

Monangai finished with 55 yards on 11 carries.

Rhode Island (0-2) answered with a 25-yard pass from Bentsen to Billy Morgan to make it 7-7.

Rhode Island’s Dylan Smith added a 25-yard field goal to take the halftime lead, 10-7.

SYRACUSE 28, STONY BROOK 17: Ryan Nassib hit Jarrod West for the go-ahead touchdown and Ashton Broyld scored on a 22-yard run as Syracuse, playing at home, snapped a seven-game losing streak.
