Central Maine Power Co. has restored power to more than 90 percent of those customers who lost power during an overnight storm that brought high winds and heavy rain to the state.

At the storm’s peak more than 11,000 customers had lost power, according to CMP spokeswoman Gail Rice. But as of 5 p.m. Wednesday, fewer than 1,000 customers were still without electrical services.

Rice said most of those customers, who were stlll without power live in Kennebec, Sagadahoc and Somerset counties.

Rice said CMP crews plan to work through the night until everyone’s power has been restored.
