LIVERMORE FALLS – Caleb Abbot and Connor Dietrich scored two goals apiece as 10th-seeded Freeport rolled to a 7-0 win over Spruce Mountain in a Western Class B boys’ soccer preliminary-round game Monday afternoon.

Landon Easler and Jack Davenport each had a goal and three assists. Callum Gould also scored for Freeport, which will travel to second-seeded Maranacook for a quarterfinal at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Freeport goalie Brandon Qualls made four saves.

Seventh-ranked Spruce Mountain finished 8-6-1.

BELFAST 3, MT. VIEW 0: Tyler Baker did all the scoring to propel the eighth-seeded Lions (9-4-2) past the ninth-seeded Mustangs (9-5-1) in an Eastern Class B prelim at Belfast.

Yani Rankis assisted Baker on his first goal, which came with 31 seconds remaining in the first half. Baker’s second-half goals were unassisted.

Belfast keeper Sam Kulikowski needed eight saves for the shutout. Mikey Hustus made 10 stops for Mt. View.

ORONO 3, SUMNER 2: Wilson Cheng scored on a header with 2:42 remaining as the seventh-seeded Red Riots (7-6-2) edged the 10th-seeded Tigers (6-7-2) in an Eastern Class C prelim at Orono.

Goals by James Normand and Mathew Cloutier staked Orono to a 2-1 halftime lead.

Sam Barnes scored in the first half and Baramee Janla coverted a penalty kick in the second half for Sumner.

FIELD HOCKEY

LISBON 2, TRAIP ACADEMY 1: Arianna Kahler scored twice to give the top-seeded Greyhounds (15-0-1) a victory over the fourth-seeded Rangers (9-6-1) in a Western Class C semifinal at Lisbon Falls.

Kahler notched her first goal 9:30 into the game. Sarah Noble answered for Traip less than two minutes later, but Kahler put home the winner 6:46 into the second half.

Lisbon goalie Stevie Charest made four saves. Emily Bolton recorded 11 saves for Traip.
