NORTH ANSON — A New Portland man was arrested Tuesday morning on a felony domestic terrorizing charge after a standoff with police.

Randy Grover Jr., 30, was taken into custody about 9 a.m. after he allegedly threatened a woman and three children with a firearm at a home on Union Street in North Anson.

Detective Lt. Carl Gottardi of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department said Grover had a rifle and had also threatened police.

No one was injured.

The state police tactical team removed the woman and children from the home. Grover was found nearby and arrested.

The state Department of Transportation closed state Route 234 to all traffic from Campground Road to U.S. Route 201A for three hours as a precaution.
