FALMOUTH – Cooper Lycan scored and had two assists, and third-seeded Falmouth received goals from four players Wednesday in a 4-0 victory against sixth-ranked Gray-New Gloucester in a Western Class B boys’ soccer quarterfinal.

J.P. White and Luke Velas scored in the first half, and Lycan and Nick Burton added second-half goals for the Yachtsmen (10-3-2).

Grant Burfeind assisted Velas and Billy Mullin set up Lycan.

Will D’Agostino made one save for the win. Nick Rogers stopped 13 shots for the Patriots (7-7-2).

 

GORHAM 1, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Connor Reagan scored off a give-and-go from Cody Elliott as the top-seeded Rams (13-0-2) downed eighth-seeded Cape Elizabeth (8-6-2) in a Western Class A quarterfinal at Gorham.

Reagan and Elliott broke downfield together, with Reagan burying a shot into the lower right corner.

Alex McCarthy stopped six shots for Gorham. Austin Andrews had eight saves for the Capers.

 

PINE TREE ACADEMY 9, A.R. GOULD 2: The Breakers (10-3-1), ranked second in Western Class D, outscored seventh-seeded A.R. Gould (3-7) 7-1 in the second half for a quarterfinal victory at Freeport.

Ken Sweeter, Joe Reed, Andrew Goorhuis, J.P. Pashamala and Ezra Kruzich scored for Pine Tree.

YORK 3, LINCOLN ACADEMY 0: Fran Mendoza and Willy Bennett each had a goal and assist to help the fourth-seeded Wildcats (9-4-2) advance in the Western Class B tourney with a quarterfinal victory against fifth-ranked Lincoln Academy (8-5-2) at York.

Nick Schilling also scored.

 

MT. ARARAT 2, WATERVILLE 0: The top-seeded Eagles (13-1-1) scored one goal in each half to beat eighth-ranked Waterville (8-5-3) in an Eastern Class A quarterfinal at Topsham.

Nathan Santerao scored with 1:44 left in the first half to give Mt. Ararat (a 1-0 lead. With 21:51 left in the game, Will Hirnak scored from Isaac Bradshaw.

Gabe Pelletier made three saves for the shutout.

ST. DOMINIC 8, WISCASSET 1: Tyler Furtado had two goals and an assist, and Will Desmarias added a goal and an assist as the Saints (13-0-1), ranked second in Western Class C, dominated seventh-seeded Wiscasset (7-7-1) in a regional quarterfinal at Auburn.

Rob Pallozzi, Erik Link, Jonathan Hudson, Jacob Charest and Austin Roy also scored for St. Dom’s. Zach Ellison converted a penalty kick for the Wolverines.

 

LEWISTON 2, LAWRENCE 0: The second-seeded Blue Devils (12-1-2) got first-half goals from Mohammed Ali and Abdi Shariff-Hassan and beat 10th-ranked Lawrence (5-8-3) in an Eastern Class A quarterfinal at Lewiston.

HALL-DALE 7, LISBON 0: Top-ranked Hall-Dale (14-0-1) scored three goals in the first half and was never threatened, pulling away from eighth-seeded Lisbon (6-9-1) in an Eastern Class C quarterfinal at Farmingdale.

Nat Crocker scored an early goal, then crossed to Steve Longfellow to make it 2-0. Spencer Shagoury added a goal with seven seconds left in the half.

 

WINSLOW 2, OCEANSIDE 0: Gabe Smith scored both goals as the third-seeded Black Raiders (11-1-3) downed 11th-ranked Oceanside (7-8-1) in an Eastern Class B quarterfinal at Winslow.

Smith holds the Winslow single-season scoring record with 30 goals and, with 61, is approaching the career record of 65 set by Colin Hay in 2005.

Winslow will play at Camden Hills in the semifinals Saturday. The teams played to a scoreless tie in the regular season.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

HAMPDEN ACADEMY 2, LAWRENCE 1: The third-seeded Broncos (11-4) scored in overtime to reach the Eastern Class B semifinals by beating the sixth-ranked Bulldogs (7-6-2) at Hampden.

Mikaela Beane scored for Lawrence from Ahlin Sungsuwan, and Erin Jeter scored in regulation for the Broncos.

Hampden will play at Camden Hills in the semifinals Saturday.
