WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Marcus Wasilewski passed for 191 yards and three touchdowns to lead the University of Maine to a 24-10 win over William and Mary in a Colonial Athletic Association game at Walter J. Zable Stadium.

The Black Bears, who stopped a two-game slide, improved to 3-5, 2-3 in league play, while the Tribe dropped to 2-6, 1-4.

Despite just 24 receiving yards, wide receiver Damarr Aultman scored on two of his three catches, including a seven-yard grab in the second quarter for a 16-0 lead and another in the fourth quarter that gave Maine a two-possession cushion, 23-10.

Maine opened the scoring on its first possession when Wasilewski threw to Maurice McDonald for a 4-yard TD pass that capped a nine-play, 74-yard drive.

The Black Bears went ahead 10-0 on a 31-yard field goal by Sean Decloux with 1:49 left in the first quarter.

The Tribe scored on a 26-yard pass play from Raphael Ortiz with 8:20 left in the second and a 32-yard field goal by John Carpenter 11 seconds into the fourth to make it 17-10.

The Tribe’s final three possessions ended in a punt, an interception by Jamal Clay and a turnover on downs.

Maine running back Rickey Stevens had 10 carries for 45 yards and four receptions for 80 yards.

 

BATES 31, COLBY 6: Shaun Doherty scored twice and the Bobcats (3-3) used a 288-14 advantage in rushing yards to rout the Mules (1-5) in a NESCAC matchup at Lewiston.

After a scoreless first quarter, Brian Gallagher recovered a fumble in the end zone 2:13 into the second quarter for Bates.

Charlie Donahue made it 10-0 with a 31-yard field goal 1:46 before halftime.

Doherty had a 45-yard TD run in the third and a 50-yard TD reception in the fourth for a 24-0 lead.

Justin Ciero threw a five-yard pass to Indigo Dow with 6:48 left for Colby.

Bates quarterback Trevor Smith, who scored on a 2-yard keeper in the fourth, completed 10 of 14 pass attempts for 124 yards.

 

WESLEYAN 34, BOWDOIN 14: The Polar Bears (1-5) scored on their first two possessions, but were shut out the rest of the way by the Cardinals (5-1) in a NESCAC game at Middletown, Conn.

Bowdoin’s Michael English capped a 14-play, 82-yard drive with a 3-yard touchdown pass from Thomas Romero with 7:59 left in the first quarter. Zach Donnarumma ran it in from four yards out two plays later.

Jimmy Garvey kicked two extra points and Bowdoin led 14-0.

The Cardinals grabbed the lead for good, 17-14, on a 21-yard run by LaDarius Drew 44 seconds before halftime.

Drew added a 70-yard TD run in the third, finishing with 18 carries and 153 of Wesleyan’s 284 rushing yards.

 

BRIDGEWATER ST. 48, MAINE MARITIME 21: Ben Desmarais rushed for three touchdowns to lead the Bears (8-1) over the Mariners (0-8) at Bridgewater, Mass.

Desmarais had a 5-yard TD run in the first quarter, added a 5-yard score in the second and got his team’s final points on the opening drive of the second half.

Michael Fahey and Dylan Webster had TD runs and Wade Severance added a 54-yard fumble return for the Mariners.

 

HUSSON 17, SUNY-MARITIME 14: Reece Attard kicked a 43-yard field goal in overtime as the Eagles (2-6) scored 17 straight points against the Privateers (3-5) at Throggs Neck, N.Y.
