NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Titans Coach Mike Munchak said Wednesday that quarterback Jake Locker will start Sunday against the Miami Dolphins barring any setbacks.

Locker worked with the starters and Munchak said the Titans will see how he responds to practicing with the first-team offense. Matt Hasselbeck also took snaps during practice.

Locker has missed five straight games after injuring his left, non-throwing shoulder Sept. 30 against Houston. He had been practicing with the scout team. Munchak said Locker will have to be honest with how he feels now that doctors have said Locker’s shoulder has healed as much as it can.

Locker will have to quickly shake off any rust if he plays; Munchak said the Titans (3-6) need to beat Miami (4-4).

• Tennessee put starting right guard Leroy Harris on injured reserve with a partially torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

DOLPHINS: Cornerback Richard Marshall was placed on injured reserve by Miami, which also claimed cornerback Brandon McDonald off waivers.

Marshall started four games, then missed the past four with a back injury. Nolan Carroll has been starting in his place.

• The team is donating $500,000 to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York to support Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

CHARGERS: The NFL fined the team $20,000 because it said a member of the equipment staff failed to immediately surrender towels when ordered to do so by a game official Oct. 15 against Denver.

The NFL also said in a statement that after investigating the Chargers’ use of towels that included an adhesive substance, it was determined that no rules were violated.

PACKERS: Linebacker Nick Perry’s promising rookie season ended when he was placed on injured reserve with a wrist injury.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette said Perry had surgery to repair a ligament. Perry missed the last three games but it was with a knee injury. There was no hint anything else was amiss until Coach Mike McCarthy said Monday he was getting a second opinion.

BEARS: Cornerback Charles Tillman might miss Sunday’s game against Houston because of the pending birth of his daughter.

Tillman told Chicago radio station WSCR-AM that he might not be available because his wife, Jackie, is due to give birth to a girl — the couple’s fourth child. Their daughter, Tiana, needed a heart transplant a few months after she was born in 2008.

EAGLES: Right tackle Todd Herremans was placed on the season-ending injured reserve list.

Herremans suffered a dislocated bone and ligament damage in his right foot in Monday’s loss to New Orleans. He should be ready for training camp but the injury is the latest blow to a depleted offensive line. Herremans will wear a boot for at least eight weeks.

JAGUARS: Shad Khan, the owner, made it clear he won’t make any changes before the end of the season.

The Jaguars (1-7) have dropped five straight and are 0-4 at home this season heading into Thursday night’s game against Indianapolis.

CARDINALS: Arizona placed outside linebacker O’Brien Schofield on injured reserve and re-signed defensive end Ronald Talley.

Schofield damaged ligaments in his left ankle in Sunday’s loss at Green Bay and will require surgery. Talley played in six games for Arizona last season and was released Aug. 31 as part of the team’s final roster cuts.

CHIEFS: Quarterback Brady Quinn said he tried to play through a head injury sustained two weeks ago against Oakland, and admitted “that’s my fault for not being smart about it.”

Quinn said he remembers taking a knee to the back of the helmet during a scramble early in the game but never saw Rolando McClain of the Raiders when he got sacked on the next play, and recalled having “tunnel vision” when he threw an ensuing interception.

FALCONS: Atlanta re-signed fullback Mike Cox and released the player who beat him out, Lousaka Polite.

Cox initially signed with the Falcons last season after Ovie Mughelli went down with an injury. Cox was favored to keep the job heading into this season but the Falcons went with Polite, a seven-year veteran who had previously played with Dallas, Chicago, Miami and New England.

THE GREEN BAY game at the New York Giants will remain on for Sunday night, Nov. 25.

Starting in Week 11, the league can move a more appealing matchup into prime time if need be. But NBC is happy to keep a game involving the last two Super Bowl champions, with the Packers and Giants both 6-3.

BILLS: Buffalo signed cornerback Crezdon Butler and offensive tackle Thomas Welch to address two injury-depleted positions.
