SCARBOROUGH — The Scarborough Police Department is using its Facebook page in an attempt to help authorities in New Jersey and Maine identify a man wanted for questioning in connection with alleged credit-card theft.

On its Facebook page, Scarborough police display a drive-up bank-window surveillance photo in which the man, whose arms are covered with distinctive tattoos, is shown reading the Aug. 24 edition of The Forecaster – a weekly newspaper.

At the time the photo was taken, he was sitting in the driver’s seat of the car with a woman beside him.

Scarborough police say that the man is wanted for questioning by Bergen County, New Jersey police and Lisbon, Maine police.

Lt. Dan Michel of the Lisbon Police Department said the case is an old one but the investigation remains active. Michel said he believes the man wanted for questioning lives in New Jersey.

Anyone with information about the man is encouraged to contact the Scarborough Police Department’s anonymous crime tip hotline at 207-730-4200, ext. 3093 or the Lisbon Police Department at 207-353-2500.
