WELLS – Conner Hanley scored 32 points, including four in overtime, as Greely recovered from a 14-point halftime deficit Friday night and beat Wells 80-73 in a Western Maine Conference schoolboy basketball opener.

Friday was the opening night for high school basketball throughout the state.

Michael McDevitt added 21 points, including 10 in the third quarter as the Rangers used a 24-11 run to pull within one after trailing 45-31 at halftime.

After Greely took the lead in the fourth, Dylan Stevens hit a pair of free throws with nine seconds left to make it 69-69. He scored all four Wells points in overtime to finish with 33.

Jake Moody finished with 30 points for the Warriors. Bailey Train had 19 for the Rangers. 

BONNY EAGLE 65, SANFORD 53: Dustin Cole scored 39 points for Bonny Eagle at Standish.

The Scots led 41-40 after three quarters, then scored 24 points in the fourth, when Cole had 18 points and was 10 of 10 from the foul line. For the game, he hit 15 of 16 free throws.

Ryan Camire scored 21 points for the Spartans.

SOUTH PORTLAND 56, WINDHAM 39: Tanner Hyland scored 21 points and Jaren Muller added 19 for South Portland at home.

Hyland drilled five 3-pointers.

Dylan Weisser led Windham with eight points.

SCARBOROUGH 66, GORHAM 49: Sam Terry racked up 21 points to lift the Red Storm at Scarborough.

Brandon Hall added 11 points, including six in a 24-9 run in the third quarter. Kevin Manning scored his eight points in the third.

Elliot Spears had 12 points and Alex Owens scored 11 for the Rams.

YARMOUTH 70, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 46: David Murphy scored 26 points to lead the Clippers over the Patriots at Yarmouth.

Yarmouth scored 27 points in the second quarter to build a 40-18 lead by halftime. Murphy had 12 points in the second quarter.

Jordan Brown finished with 10 points for the Clippers, and Christian Henry grabbed 10 rebounds.

Andreas Kariotas scored 20 points for the Patriots — 10 from the free-throw line.

WESTBROOK 45, KENNEBUNK 31: Alec Hazlewood had 14 points and Keenan Lowe scored 13 for the Blue Blazes at Kennebunk.

DEERING 77, THORNTON ACADEMY 28: Dominic Lauture finished with 19 points, Ahmed Ali added 14, and Ahmed Ismael Ahmed had 13 to lead the Rams at Portland.

Reuben Moses led Thornton with nine points.

YORK 54, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 35: Aaron Todd scored 17 points to lead the Wildcats at Fryeburg.

Zach Leal and Hayden Webster contributed 11 points apiece for York.

Walker-James Mallory scored 10 for Fryeburg.

HYDE 46, A.R. GOULD 38: Warsame Mohamed scored 13 points for the Phoenix, who used a 12-6 third-quarter run to open a 34-26 lead against the Bears at South Portland.

Zacharia Mohamed had 17 points and 17 rebounds for A.R. Gould.

WISCASSET 53, TELSTAR 35: Austin Haskell hit a pair of 3-pointers to start the third quarter, sparking a 15-9 run that gave the Wolverines a 37-32 lead at Bethel.

Travis Padilla scored 13 points and Chandler Longfellow had 11 for Wiscasset, which pulled away by shooting 10 of 12 from the line in the fourth.

Nicholas Mills scored 15 points to pace Telstar.

CAMDEN HILLS 62, WATERVILLE 58: Colin Hart scored 21 points, including a tying basket at the buzzer in regulation and six points in overtime, to lead the Windjammers at Rockport.

Chandler Crans added 12 points and Colin Morse scored 10.

Cris Hale of Waterville scored 23 points, Justin Jabar finished with 11 and Josh Gormley had 10.

BOOTHBAY REGION 82, CARRABEC 27: Anthony DiMauro and John Hepburn each scored 16 points to lead the Seahawks at North Anson.

Andrew Hallinan added nine points for Boothbay.

William Crawford led Carrabec with nine points.

GARDINER 51, MORSE 45: Tyler Jamison scored 17 points for the Tigers, who rallied in the fourth quarter at Gardiner.

LISBON 40, MT. ABRAM 37: Mason Haley scored 11 points and Brad Groh added 10 for the Greyhounds at Lisbon Falls.

OCEANSIDE 80, WINSLOW 53: Isiah Stone-Patterson scored 22 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the Mariners at Rockland.

WAYNFLETE 50, OLD ORCHARD 49: Jack Cutler scored 15 points to help Waynflete win at Old Orchard Beach.

Old Orchard trailed 41-26 after three quarters but rallied to make it 46-46. Cutler was 3 of 4 from the foul line to help the Flyers get back in front.

LAKE REGION 53, POLAND 48: Sam Smith had 18 points as the Lakers won at Poland.

Smith and Michael Triglione buried 3-pointers in the final two minutes. Ben Chaine added 13 points for Lake Region.
