AUGUSTA — What’s billed as the largest science and engineering education event in Maine will draw 72 teams of children ages 9 to 14.
Competitors in Maine Robotics’ and Time Warner Cable’s 13th Annual Maine Lego League Championship have been researching, building and practicing with their robots in preparation for Saturday’s event at the Augusta Civic Center.
The teams have also been building and programming Lego Robots to perform various tasks.
This year’s event involves teams learning about life after 60. Each team meets with a senior member of their community to learn about issues facing the senior population. They research and plan a way to help overcome one of those challenges and present their findings to the judging panels along with solutions.
