1. Waynflete: Every scorer returns from a squad that placed third in Class B last winter. Colby Harvey, Amelia Deady, Ellen Silk and Walker Foehl lead a stellar junior class that will threaten state relay records. Each placed top-five in two events

2. Cape Elizabeth: Graduation claimed half a dozen scorers from a squad that placed third in Class A last winter. Sydney Wight, Caroline Herriman and Hannah Homans head a strong junior class. Sophomore Sadie Stiles leads a deep supporting cast.

3. Greely: The defending Class B state champion bids adieu to six swimmers and divers who scored at the state meet, five of them in two events. Seniors Sarah and Sidney Easterling, and Emily Domingo are the top returners. Depth will determine whether Greely can compete for a third title in four years.

4. Deering: Coach Angie Marcotte returns the bulk of a team that placed fourth in Class A last winter –- including seniors Genevieve Worthley and Jessica Blake, and junior Emma Pontius – and adds promising freshmen Kate Pontius and Sophie DeOliveira.

5. McAuley: The Lions, under new coach Laura Lazenby, edge an improved Brunswick for the fifth spot. McAuley was fourth in Class B and nearly everyone who scored is back, led by seniors Taylor Church and Libby Gajewski, and sophomore Katie Call.
