NFL: A grand jury in Texas has indicted Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Josh Brent on one count of intoxication manslaughter in connection with the Dec. 8 crash that killed Cowboys practice squad member Jerry Brown. He is out of jail on $100,000 bond. Intoxication manslaughter carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Brent could be eligible for probation.
BASEBALL
MAJORS: The Seattle Mariners announced their $2.75 million, one-year deal with outfielder Raul Ibanez, returning the veteran to where he began his career in 1996. General Manager Jack Zduriencik said the team wanted to add leadership in the offseason and Ibanez provides that. Ibanez, 40, hit .240 with 19 homers and 62 RBI in 384 at-bats for the Yankees last season.

PREMIER LEAGUE: Javier Hernandez sent Manchester United seven points clear at the Premier League summit by pouncing in the 90th minute to clinch a 4-3 victory over Newcastle as second-place Manchester City lost at Sunderland.
• American goalkeeper Brad Friedel has signed up for another season with Tottenham at age 41.
OLYMPICS
2014: The upper house of Russia’s parliament passed a bill calling for fines of up to $30,000 for anyone scalping tickets to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. The bill awaits President Vladimir Putin’s signature.
For low-level scalping by individuals, the fine would be five to 10 times the ticket’s face value, but penalties will be heavier for scalping done as a business.
Russian Olympic Committee head Alexander Zhukov told a news conference that “we as Olympic organizers have an obligation under our contract with the International Olympic Committee to prevent speculative price hikes for hotels and Olympic tickets.”

GIRLS’ HOCKEY: Mary Morrison scored twice during a four-goal second period as Greely handled Winslow 4-0 at Sukee Arena in Winslow.
Paige Tuller and Monica Howland also scored, Sarah Kurland had two assists and Maura Perry made seven saves for the Rangers (8-2). Jessica Kane stopped 50 shots for the Black Raiders (2-6-1).
