PORTLAND – Marlo Dell’Aquila scored 18 points to lead Cape Elizabeth to a 49-45 overtime upset win over Waynflete Thursday in a Western Maine Conference girls’ basketball game.

Trailing 40-34 after three quarters, Cape Elizabeth (2-5) held Waynflete (5-2) to just two points in the fourth to force overtime.

In the extra session, the Capers hit five free throws to complete the comeback.

Kisa Tabery added 10 points, including four from the line for Cape.

Martha Veroneau paced the Flyers with 14 points.

WELLS 34, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 28: Nicole Moody made 3 of 4 foul shots in the final 20 seconds of regulation as the Warriors (3-4) held off the Raiders (2-5) at Wells.

Alison Furness and Kaitlyn Tufts led the Warriors with eight points apiece.

Fryeburg was paced by Kendra Fox with nine points.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 48, TRAIP ACADEMY 30: Christina Colman netted 17 points to power the Seagulls (5-2) past the Rangers (2-5) at Old Orchard Beach.

Abby Dubois chipped in 12 points for the Seagulls.

Eileen Macomber had 11 points for Traip.

FREEPORT 69, YARMOUTH 31: Aubrey Pennell had 17 points, including three 3-pointers as the Falcons (3-3) upended the Clippers (0-7) at Yarmouth.

Hannah Chase and Vanessa Lee scored eight apiece for Freeport, which had 12 players score.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 52, POLAND 41: Haylee Cote made four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points and Maria Valente scored 12 to lead the Patriots (5-1) past the Knights (3-4) at Poland.

Poland was paced by Emily Bolduc, who made 13 free throws and finished with a game-high 19 points.

SACOPEE VALLEY 38, SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 15: Morgan Sanborn scored 10 points as the Hawks (2-4) raced to a 16-2 halftime lead and cruised to a win over the Guardians (0-6) at Hiram.

Shannon Kunz led Seacoast with six points.

MEDOMAK 48, MCI 27: Hannah Marks and Taylor Simmons scored 11 points apiece to lead the Panthers (2-6) to a KVAC B win over the Huskies (0-7) at Pittsfield.

NOKOMIS 54, LINCOLN 36: Anna MacKenzie led all scorers with 22 points as the Warriors (7-0) beat the Eagles (3-5) in a KVAC B game in Newport.

CAMDEN HILLS 48, WINSLOW 36: Jordan Knowlton and Rachel Pease both scored 12 points as the Windjammers (4-3) beat the Black Raiders (2-5) in a KVAC B game in Winslow.

HOCKEY

SCARBOROUGH 9, CAPE ELIZABETH/WAYNFLETE 1: Alyssa Hulst had four goals and an assist as the Red Storm (9-1) cruised past the Capers (4-5) at USM.

FALMOUTH 10, CHEVERUS 4: Lucy Meyer had three goals, Abby Payson scored twice and Hillary Nash stopped 19 shots as the Yachtsmen (7-4) handled the Stags (2-7-1) at Portland Ice Arena.
