PORTLAND — Kate Roy scored an unassisted goal 2:36 into overtime to lift Cheverus to a 6-5 win over Brunswick in a girls’ hockey game Thursday at Portland Ice Arena.
Roy also scored the equalizer with 4:51 left in the third period. She finished with four goals and two assists. Katherine Randall and Taylor Courtois added a goal apiece for Cheverus (3-8-1).
The Dragons (4-7) were led by Rachel Moroney with four goals and one assist.
WINSLOW 3, MT. ARARAT 1: Brennah O’Connell and Britany Whitaker each had a goal and an assist as the Black Raiders beat the Eagles at Watson Arena.
Jennifer Poulin also scored with an assist from Brooke Roy for Winslow (3-7-2). Jessica Cain earned the win with 13 saves.
Anne McIntire scored for Mt. Ararat (0-11).
YORK 4, BIDDEFORD 0: Rachel Yorke scored twice and Olivia Drew made 22 saves as the Wildcats (8-2-1) blanked the Tigers (5-5-1) at Dover, N.H.
Brynn Vessey and Lauren Pickford added a goal apiece.
THORNTON ACADEMY 7, GORHAM 4: Steven Comar recorded a had trick as the Trojans (5-2) got past the Rams (3-5-1) at Gorham.
Comar also assisted on a goal by Alex Fallon, who finished with two goals and an assist.
Spence Cowand notched two goals for Gorham.
FRYEBURG/LAKE REGION 4, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Tyler LaPlante and Dakota Russo each collected a goal and an assist to lead the Ice Cats (2-4-2) to a win over the Red Riots (0-6) at Portland Ice Arena.
Tyler LaPlante opened the scoring 3:47 into the game. Tyler Harnden and Mason LaPlante each added a second-period goal, and Russo closed out the scoring in the final minute of the third period.
Pavle Stepanovic recorded the shutout.
FALMOUTH 11, PORTLAND/DEERING 1: Kris Samaras had three goals and three assists as the Yachtsmen (7-2) cruised past the Bulldogs (4-3) at Portland.
Hugh Grygiel finished with two goal and three assists, and Jake Grade added a pair of goals.
Luigi Grimaldi scored for Portland/Deering.
WAYNFLETE 81, A.R. GOULD 41: Serge Nyirikamba scored 27 points as the Flyers (9-1) downed the Bears (5-4) at South Portland.
Jack Cutler added 19 points for Waynflete. Zacharia Mohamed paced A.R. Gould with 15 points.
WINDHAM 63, MASSABESIC 25: Kevin Weisser made three 3-pointers while scoring 11 of his 15 points in the first quarter as the Eagles (3-6) raced out to a 14-2 lead and cruised past the Mustangs (0-10) at Windham.
Connor Flynn chipped in with 14 points, Dylan Weisser scored 11, and Thomas McGowan pulled down 10 rebounds for the Eagles.
Massabesic was led by Cale Thornton with seven points.
BANGOR 71, MT. BLUE 28: Conner Adams scored 19 points to lead Bangor to a win at home.
Alex Campbell added 14 points for the Rams (6-3). Drew Parsons led Mt. Blue (0-8) with 11.
MT. ABRAM 57, MADISON 55: Ian James scored 28 points to lead the Roadrunners (4-5) past the Bulldogs (3-6) in Salem.
POLAND 44, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 31: Brittina Maheux scored 21 points to pace the Knights (5-5) past the Seagulls (6-4) in the second half at Poland.
Michaella Arsenault added eight points and 16 rebounds for Poland, which trailed 19-17 at halftime before outscoring Old Orchard 15-3 in the third quarter. Emily Bolduc grabbed 10 rebounds and had four steals.
Abby Dubois led the Seagulls with nine points.
HYDE 41, ISLESBORO 27: Katie Comeaux and Diamond Brown led the way with 10 points apiece as the Phoenix (8-0) pulled away from the Eagles (3-7) in the second half at Islesboro.
Comeaux also had eight rebounds and six steals, and Brown pulled down 10 rebounds. Kara Fischer chipped in with nine points and six steals.
BUCKFIELD 42, HEBRON ACADEMY 27: Mishell Mazon-Passo tallied 16 points to lead the Bucks (3-7) past the Lumberjacks (2-4) at Hebron.
Olivia Brown scored 18 points for Hebron.
