BANGOR — Sting, who has been touring solo for the last few years following a blockbuster reunion with his Police mates in 2007, is scheduled to play a show at the Bangor Waterfront Pavilion on June 20.
Tickets are $63.25 to $103.25 and will go on sale at noon on Feb. 1, at waterfrontconcerts.com, ticketmaster.com or by phone at (800) 745-3000.
The show will be part of the latest leg of Sting’s Back to Bass Tour, which began in 2011. The leg begins in May in British Columbia, Canada, and is set to end in Norway in July.
The other New England dates on the tour schedule so far are June 21 at Bank of America Pavilion in Boston and June 22 at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn. Sting played Portland’s Cumberland County Civic Center in May of 2001.
Sting, 61, first came to rock stardom as the bass player and lead singer for The Police, in the late 1970s and 1980s. Their 1983 album “Synchronicity” was a number one smash in the U.S. and England. The band split up in 1986, but reunited for a tour in 2007.
As a solo performer, Sting has earned 10 Grammy Awards and has released 13 albums.
