SANFORD – Sarah Clement scored 16 points and her sister, Allie Clement, added 15 as unbeaten McAuley pulled away to a 61-35 victory against Sanford in an SMAA schoolgirl basketball game Saturday.

Olivia Smith and Jackie Welch added 10 points apiece for McAuley (14-0), which led 35-23 at halftime.

Samantha Adams paced Sanford (9-5) with eight points.

FREEPORT 60, YARMOUTH 43: Nina Davenport scored 12 of her game-high 31 points in the first quarter as the Falcons (8-6) took a 23-9 lead and cruised past the Clippers (1-13) at Freeport.

Davenport also grabbed 15 rebounds, and Jocelyn Davee added six points and six rebounds while playing a strong defensive game for Freeport.

Grace O’Donnell paced Yarmouth with 20 points.

CAPE ELIZABETH 45, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 28: Kisa Tabery had 17 points to spark the Capers (7-7) past the Patriots (10-4) at Gray.

Tabery scored six points in the third quarter as the Capers outscored the Patriots 14-4 to pull away from an 18-18 tie at the break.

Marlo Dell’Aquilla added nine points and Montana Braxton chipped in eight for Cape Elizabeth, including six in the third.

GREELY 35, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 25: Ashley Storey scored seven points in the fourth quarter as the Rangers (12-2) used an 11-2 run to overcome Fryeburg Academy (3-11) at Cumberland.

The score was 19-19 at the half, but Greely changed to a man defense and held the Raiders to six points in the second half.

Ashley Storey and Jaclyn Storey scored 11 each for Greely. Sarah Welch led Fryeburg with eight.

WELLS 57, WAYNFLETE 49: Allison Furness had 16 points and Nicole Moody scored 13 as the Warriors (6-8) upset the Flyers (10-3) at Wells.

Wells built a 35-15 lead at the break before Martha Veroneau led Waynflete to a 14-5 third quarter.

The Flyers cut the deficit to 43-41 with 4:40 remaining.

TRAIP ACADEMY 64, HEBRON ACADEMY 17: Kendra Kagiliery, Alli Barrett and Jessica Seguara scored 12 points apiece as the Rangers (5-9) cruised past the Lumberjacks (3-8) at Hebron.

Traip took control with a 16-2 first-quarter run and extended the lead to 29-9 at halftime.

SACOPEE VALLEY 47, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 26: Dakota Miner scored six of her 16 points in the second quarter as the Hawks (7-7) closed the half on an 11-0 run to take a 26-9 lead against NYA (3-10) at South Hiram.

Morgan Sanborn added 10 points for Sacopee. Chloe Leishman and Hannah Carr each scored 10 for the Panthers.

FALMOUTH 55, POLAND 43: Ally Hickey made four 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 22 points to lead Falmouth (7-7) over the Knights (5-9) at Poland.

Meg Palombo added 10 points for Falmouth, which led 37-30 going into the fourth quarter.

HOCKEY

PORTLAND 7, CAPE ELIZABETH-WAYNFLETE 5: Drew Barry scored four goals, and Mia Thurston added two goals and three assists for the Bulldogs (3-11-2), who built a 6-2 lead and held off Cape Elizabeth-Waynflete (3-9-3) at Portland.

Madeline Ciraldo scored three goals, and Sarah Bosworth added a goal and two assists for Cape Elizabeth-Waynflete.

CHEVERUS 12, GORHAM-BONNY EAGLE 9: Katie Roy scored eight goals and assisted on two others for the Stags (5-10-1), who built a 9-3 lead after two periods and held off Gorham-Bonny Eagle (6-9) at Gorham.

Jill Hannigan added two goals and four assists, and Sam Sessler and Katherine Randall also scored for Cheverus.

GREELY 6, WINSLOW 0: Mary Morrison scored two goals and assisted on two others as the Rangers (12-2-1) downed the Raiders (3-10-3) at Falmouth.

Meg Finlay also scored twice for Greely, which outshot Winslow, 70-8.
