BANGOR — An Industry man has been sentenced to nearly three years in federal prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Federal prosecutors say 40-year-old Paul Brackett was sentenced Tuesday to two years and nine months in prison and three years of probation.

He pleaded guilty in September.

Authorities say officers from the Maine Warden Service responded to a report of a vehicle off the road in Eustis last February.

The Sun Journal reports that wardens found Brackett nearby carrying a loaded handgun. Wardens also found a loaded AR-15 rifle in the back seat of the vehicle, and another rifle and ammunition in the trunk.

Brackett was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to two felony convictions.
