PHILADELPHIA – Chris Kunitz scored his second goal just 18 seconds into the third period to cap a four-goal rally and lift the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 5-4 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night.
Pascal Dupuis, James Neal and Tyler Kennedy also scored goals for the Atlantic Division-leading Penguins, who won their third straight game.

Jakub Voracek had two power-play goals, and Zac Rinaldo and Kimmo Timonen also scored for the Flyers, who blew a 4-1 lead after the first period.
Both starting goalies — Philadelphia’s Ilya Bryzgalov and Pittsburgh’s Marc-Andre Fleury — were pulled after allowing four goals.
Scott Hartnell had his tying goal disallowed near the midpoint of the third period because his stick was above the crossbar when he deflected Timonen’s shot into the net.
CAPITALS 7, PANTHERS 1: John Erskine, Wojtek Wolski, John Carlson and Mike Ribeiro all scored before the game was 8 1/2 minutes old, and host Washington climbed out of a tie for last in the Eastern Conference by thrashing Florida.
Florida’s Jacob Markstrom allowed two goals on two shots and was pulled after 3:10 of the first period. Replacement Scott Clemmensen, didn’t fare much better, giving up two goals in the first six shots.
RANGERS 2, ISLANDERS 1: Marian Gaborik scored a power-play goal 42 seconds into overtime, and the New York Rangers rallied for a victory at Uniondale, N.Y.
Gaborik took a feed in the high slot from Rick Nash, who got the Rangers even at 1 with 5:23 left in regulation, and fired in a shot for his eighth of the season and first in nine games.
The Rangers got their third power play of the night — the only advantages for either team — when Michael Del Zotto was hauled down as he crashed in on Islanders goalie Evgeni Nabokov 21 seconds into the extra session.
BLUE JACKETS 2, CANUCKS 1: Matt Calvert carried the puck almost from end to end, twice avoiding opposing players, before skating to the slot and scoring on a rising wrist shot to give host Columbus an overtime victory.
Calvert took a pass from Fedor Tyutin deep in the defensive zone and chipped the puck along the right boards while twice fighting off defenders. He then went unimpeded to the right hash before whipping the puck past goalie Cory Schneider.
CANADIENS 4, HURRICANES 2: Brandon Prust and Lars Eller each had a goal and two assists to lead Montreal over host Carolina.
Eller’s goal at 6:09 of the third gave Montreal the lead for good and P.K. Subban added a power-play goal at 7:56 to make it 4-2.
The Canadiens, playing their third game of a five-game trip, were outshot 44-28 but Carey Price made 42 saves to earn his 12th win of the season.
RED WINGS 3, OILERS 0: Jimmy Howard made 22 saves, and Jakub Kindl and Cory Emmerton scored in the second period to lift host Detroit over Edmonton.
JETS 2, LIGHTNING 1: Bryan Little scored a tiebreaking goal late in the third period, Al Montoya made 28 saves and Winnipeg won at Tampa.
Little slid the puck past goalie Anders Lindback with 4:08 to play. Winnipeg also got a goal from Eric Tangradi.
Steven Stamkos got his 18th goal this season for the Lightning, who have lost 6 of 7.
DEVILS 3, SABRES 2: David Clarkson and Patrik Elias scored in a shootout, and host New Jersey rallied from a late two-goal deficit to defeat Buffalo, snapping a season-high six game winless streak.
Elias and Adam Henrique got the Devils to overtime, scoring in the final 6:30.
BLUES 6, COYOTES 3: Patrik Berglund scored twice in a span of 2:22 and visiting St. Louis beat Phoenix.
Chris Stewart got a goal and two assists, while David Perron added four assists as the Blues won after two straight losses.
NOTES
FLYERS: Chris Pronger isn’t ready to retire, even though a concussion specialist has advised him not to return to hockey.
The former NHL MVP has not played for the Flyers since Nov. 19, 2011, and still suffers from lingering effects of multiple concussions. He said he’s simply trying to get healthy and live a normal life, but wouldn’t rule out attempting a return.
