Emily Keene of Spruce Mountain and Colton Bivinghouse of Katahdin won the free-throw shooting contests Saturday as part of festivities at the Maine McDonald’s High School Senior All-Star basketball games at Husson University in Bangor.

Keene made 49 of 50 shots to win the girls’ division. Megan Ireland of Presque Isle finished second with 45 successful free throws.

Bivinghouse sank 45 shots. Garet Beal of Jonesport-Beals and Dustin Cole of Bonny Eagle tied for second with 44.

Fifty-two teams and more than 300 players participated in the 19th annual Dr. Noel Paradise Memorial Swish-Out and Junior Swish-Out Childhood Cancer Challenge, held Feb. 10 at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham.

A record-setting total of $28,525 was raised for the Maine Children’s Cancer Program through the 3-on-3 co-ed basketball tournament that featured 40 adult teams and 12 middle school teams. Team champions were: Elite Division – The Franchise of Cumberland; Just for Fun Recreation Division – the Burgundy Team of Portland; and Junior Division – the Saco Celtics.
