AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Nick Grady went 6 for 6 with three RBI and a run Thursday to lead the University of Southern Maine to a 16-10 victory against Trinity in a nonconference college baseball game.
The victory was the 800th for Coach Ed Flaherty.
The Huskies (4-1) broke the game open with a six-run fourth inning and held off a charge by the Bantams (6-6).
Sam Dexter added a pair of hits, two RBI and three runs for the Huskies, who led 13-3 after seven innings.
MAINE: The series against Hartford scheduled for Saturday and Sunday was moved to Hartford, Conn., due to snow on Mahaney Diamond.
The series scheduled for April 27-28 at Hartford was moved to Orono.
UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 5, SMITH 2: Amanda Vaudreuil hit a two-out RBI single to spark a three-run seventh inning and lift the Nor’easters (5-4) over the Pioneers (4-3) at Fort Myers, Fla.
Erin Grover went 4 for 4 with two runs, and Vaudreuil finished with two RBI and scored for the Nor’easters.

ELMHURST 14, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: The Blue Jays (3-0) scored 13 runs in the first inning and cruised by the Huskies (0-1) at Clermont, Fla.
WESLEYAN 8, SOUTHERN MAINE 1: The Cardinals (11-3) scored four runs in the first inning and downed the Huskies (0-2) at Clermont, Fla.
ST. JOSEPH’S 5, EMMANUEL 4: Andrew Sullivan scored his fourth goal of the game to give the Monks (3-4, 2-0 Great Northern Athletic) a 5-3 lead with 1:28 left against the Saints (2-5, 0-1) at Portland.
UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 12, FLORHAM 7: Pat Wolfe scored a career-high six goals, one shy of the school single-game record, to lead the Nor’easters (5-2) past the Devils (2-6) at Madison, N.J.
SOUTHERN MAINE 8, MOUNT IDA 5: Kyle Baker scored four goals to lead the Huskies (2-3) past the Mustangs (2-5) at Portland.
ST. JOSEPH’S 13, MOUNT IDA 11: Macy Pagurko scored all of her team-high four goals in the first half as the Monks (4-3, 2-0 Great Northern Athletic) took an 11-5 lead and held off the Mustangs (1-5, 0-2) at Newton, Mass.
COLBY 16, ENDICOTT 4: Kate Pistel and Katie Griffin scored three goals apiece to lead the Mules (3-0) over the Gulls (2-3) at Waterville.
PROVIDENCE: Goalie Jon Gillies of South Portland was named Hockey East rookie of the year. Gillies had a .929 save percentage and 2.17 goals-against average.
